Meeting with Wonderful Friends / Naoko
I wish I could talk to her forever…that is what I always feel when I spend time with my friends who are going to write essays with me in this website.

It has been almost ten years since I met Aya at a positive women’s gathering. When I stayed at her place in last winter for the first time in 7 years, we talked over dinner and eventually we stayed very late at night although both of us had some works to do on the next day. Riiko is a woman I met when I attended a positive women’s gathering in Tokyo in January. The gathering started in the afternoon and ended almost at midnight…time flied so fast! Mony, a wonderful sister of mine and I shared a room in Bangkok when we participated in a positive women’s workshop in Bangkok in February 2006. Since then we met each other in several workshops and conferences in the world and spent almost every night together chatting. I feel as if we become high school girls who go on a school trip when we chat and laugh at night. Maricon came to Kobe for the International Conference on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific, the first HIV/AIDS conference I attended in July 2005. She and I participated in several workshops together and she is also a “school mate” of our girl’s club. The AIDS conference brought me another fantastic woman, Maria. We shared our contact when we attended the same workshop in Toronto in last summer.

Time I spend with them is my precious treasure. We talk about love, relationship, friends, family, work, interest, dreams…everything about our lives. Being HIV positive brought me lots of hardships but it also leads me to a meeting with wonderful friends like Aya, Riiko, Mony, Maricon and Maria. I am looking forward to chatting with them through this website. Thank you ladies for accepting my request! I also would like to appreciate Sunstar for giving us this opportunity. It would be great if we meet offline after we finish writing our essays. Where is the best place for gathering? Somewhere between Portugal and Japan?!
